The sectoral committee of the Parliament reviewed the project to improve the Issyk-Kul bypass (Barskoon - Karakol section)

    

On June 10, 2025, as part of a mobile meeting of the Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region, representatives of the people visited the base of the contractor of the Issyk-Kul bypass improvement project (Barskoon-Karakol section), got acquainted with the preparations for road construction work, and discussed key issues.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Almaz Turgunbaev announced that large-scale reconstruction of the Barskoon-Karakol road will begin in June this year. The project includes expanding the road from two to four lanes, upgrading bridges, lighting, and installing sidewalks and gutters. Almaz Turgunbaev also said that the project will increase road safety and improve logistics and convenience for residents, tourists, and businesspeople.

During the meeting, representatives of the ministry and the Asian Development Bank project implementation team answered questions raised by the public.
